Papa and mama

Here is mama with her two sisters, I don't know their names.

My honey was one of the picutre takers for the night. I was the other one.

Here is Enma with her new novio. They are now broken up.
Here is the happy couple cutting their cake. This was our gift to the happy couple. Edgar and I still laugh that neither of us got more of our wedding cake besides the bite we gave each other.

Welcome home

Ulga Maria had not been back to Honduras for almost 10 years. I love the way she is holding her daughters that she hasn't held for so long. Also Mario finally moved back here. It was an emotional day for all.

Our little corner

Edgar and I spent the weekend cleaning up this corner to make a garden/flower box. I wish that we had taken a before picture but just imagine, rocks, garbage and more garbage. We first raked and cleaned the dirt. Then edgar used the machete to dig a spot for the cinderblocks. A few days later we poured the cement. Thanks dad for the idea of using the broom to smooth it out. It worked well for us. Of course we had to put our hands in with our names. The family laughed at us but later they thought that it was pretty neat.

Sept. 15, Parade #3

The start of the parade for the Jr and High school students. I believe this parade lasted at least 6 hours. The little Bomberos, in training, marching.

These pictures are for you Dad!!!

The ambulance.
The five flags again.

The offical people. I really have no idea who they are but they sit at the end of the parade, every group in every school performs for them and then they clap ending the parade for that group.

There is an army training camp in town, they fired there guns right after this picture and in true Honduran fashion they used real bullets.
The hospital workers.

I would have never thought about a Lions Club here in Juticalpa. Mr. Skallman always cheerful.
Daystar was number 4 in this parade, lucky teachers.

Here is Debbie ready to be done with the parade. Queen Indian
Queens of our school.

Here comes the band. They stop and play for the crowd, sometimes 6 songs in a row. That is why the parade takes so long. Every school has a band playing.

The baton girls.
Ms. Nicaragua
Ms. Guate mala
Ms. Costa Rica

Here is Yumi talking to Ms. Honduras. This is Ms. El Savador
These girls' dresses represent the products of the different departments of Honduras.
Here is Nicole and she looks cute in her cowgirl hat.
This float was representing the farmers of the area.

This was a float with students dresses up as Native Indians. Here is Lyndsay and Anne enjoying their time walking.
Here is my niece, Jackie. Her school was the first in the parade but I missed taking a picture of her, so I caught her later.
I thought that this sign was creative. It shows the different departments with different beans and rice. Olancho is the biggest!!!
