Little Miss Daystar

We have the most amazing picutres of the valley from our school. Little Miss Daystar was a fundraiser. The girl who sold the most tickets won. I think she sold 13,000 lemps of her tickets. They had a ceremony to crown her and of course it was way over the top. Many of the teachers felt it was a crazy day. The dress for Miss Daystar was over 5,000 lemps alone and the parents just drop their money to make things ....well a bit over the top.

Yumi and I were just waiting for the crazyness to begin. All of the students outfits were handmade just for this event.

I called Edgar and had him come up with me. He is so patient with everything that goes on. The bottom picutre is Edgar, Yadira and myself. Yadira is the other 5th grade teacher and had a beautiful baby girl about 3 weeks after this picutre was taken.

We got these braclets at the fair. It was interesting, the rides were very scary. Aparently people get killed every year but nothing is done for safety. Last year a ride caught on fire with kids trapped inside....

These were my favorite chickens. The rooster (little man) made me laugh all the time. Sadly they are no longer with us, the family ate them for Christmas.

To the farm.......

I learn new things about Edgar everyday. I watched him rope a horse, saddle it and we all took turns riding. Sometimes I forget that he grew up on the farm, so many skills......

We were suppose to dress up as something Honduran, but Edgar and I didn't have time to make a costume, we are a married Honduras Couple! Robin the sexy parrot!

Happy Oct. 26th (very late of course)

Well we made it through our first year, even through all of the trails. We spent our anniversary at this place, no idea the name, but it was great food and a clam day.

I bought Edgar a new hat, shorts, shirt and a guitar. We got a birthday cake and of course pushed his face in it.
