School Christmas Gift to Juticalpa

Our school did a party in the center square for the city. There was food, music, clowns, face painting, Santa Claus, and candy for the kids. After the party we did a huge parade down the street throwing the rest of the candy. No pictures of that because my camera died.
This is the makeshift Christmas tree in the park. They took leaves and covered the statue. It burned down 2 days later when people did fireworks way to close to it.
I did face painting for about 4 hours. It was a great project and I worked on my spanish a bit.
Edgar brought Rigo up to the party and he was so excited to get his hand painted and get some candy from Santa Claus.

I love when these guys play for parties.

Thanksgiving

There were so many gringos for the dinner from two biligual schools and all of the peace core workers. It was a great night for all.

This was the best food I have had in Honduras. Mostly becuase it was comfort food. Thanks to all the great cooks and wonderful friends.

The nap after the food.

I'm sneaking in my dessert. Pumpkin Cheesecake...... oh so good.

This is a papaya that has to be scored to let the milk drip out over night.

Our makeshift kitchen. We had this table made so we could have a place to cook. Edgar and his sister got in a big fight over taking the garbage out and she told us that we could no longer use her kitchen. This was my first time cooking in 2 weeks. I was pretty happy.

To Lunch

The cows slowed our trip down for a bit. The truck was full of girls so Edgar had to sit in the back. He had no idea I took this picture.

This was one of my sick days when I was trying to look happy but my body really wasn't.

Edgar and some teachers decided to do the zipline. I was in a skirt and had other problems that prevented me from going. It looked really fun and we will have to go back again so I can zip.

The fields of sugar cane, I still haven't tried it yet.

Hey family, remember the cups I sent you for christmas. This is how they grow on trees.
