How the United States Sees the World

Confessions: Now that I have lived outside the United States (not as a missionary) I can see why the world really doesn't like the U.S. I see a lot of selfishness and pride. I feel like people are complaining all the time about things that can never bring happiness. I know that happiness is found within the love of family and friends. I wouldn't trade my experiences in Honduras for anything, and yes I do wash my clothes by hand.

This is sadly how many Americans view the world. I'm glad you posted about this. This is a serious problem that bothers me from day to day. I wish there was something we could do to get the US more interested in humanity instead of "Americanity." Which if you think about it is a contradiction in itself. North and South Americans can be looked at as Americans, but the US thinks we are the special ones that deserve that term. I could go on and on about this. Great post!

I have enjoyed reading your blogs, we will be leaving in August and living in Tocoa Colon (where my husband is from). Any thoughts or suggestions on what to take with us?
